MIMIT hosts the 1st National Table of 100% Made in Italy organic cotton, organized by Sustainable Fashion Innovation Society

On the occasion of the establishment of the NATIONAL DAY of MADE IN ITALY, Wednesday 24 April 2024 at the Sala degli Arazzi of the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy, Sustainable Fashion Innovation Society presented: “Reshoring – Textile Agriculture, from crop to shop” – the First supply chain of 100% organic national cotton Made in Italy.

After about half a century in which cotton agriculture had been abandoned, the reshoring project “from crop to shop” is presented, which brings the Italian heritage back to the fashion supply chain, from the seed to the shop. Sustainable Fashion Innovation Society had the opportunity to present two of our members: the Organic Cotton of Sicily of ICS SpA and Gest – il Cotone Organico di Puglia, in the presence of the Minister of Business and Made in Italy, Senator Adolfo Urso, at the Sala degli Arazzi of the Dicastery.

We take this opportunity to thank the Hon. Minister for his great sensitivity towards the supply chain and for having accepted the proposal for an ad-hoc label by the President of Sustainable Fashion Innovation Society, Valeria Mangani.

Minister Adolfo Urso: “We share the idea of creating a 100% Made in Italy label that can represent authenticity and excellence along the entire supply chain. The Transition Plan 5.0 that we are deploying these weeks allocates 13 billion euros overall for digital innovation and energy efficiency also through green technology installations and systems for businesses”.
