SUSTAINABLE FASHION INNOVATION SOCIETY
Where Sustainable Fashion meets Technology
SUSTAINABLE FASHION INNOVATION SOCIETY is an apolitical non-profit association.
Based in Rome, it was born from the need to enhance:
- fashion and Made in Italy
- production sustainability
- supply chain innovation
We care about the great problems of the world of economics, politics, justice, media, ethics and bioethics.
In particular, SFIS is active in spreading the culture of sustainability in every field and declination, be it ethical, civil, industrial, agricultural, food or energy-related.
OUR COMMITMENT
-
Constant support in favor of manufacturing, craftsmanship and “Made in Italy” design, unparalleled and recognized worldwide, in the rapid renewal and adaptation of the production and distribution evolution processes to market demands in the immediate future.
-
Monitoring the change in technological innovation factors, such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, blockchain, industrial digitization, CRISPR, luxury up-cycling.
-
Attention to the sustainable conversion of global ethical fashion, according to internationally shared ethical-environmental factors, it is mandatory to keep “digital-first” customers on the frontier of the digital land-grab.
TOGETHER WE CAN:
-
Reduce the environmental impact of the fashion sector: fashion is the second most polluting industry in the world after oil (World Economic Forum).
-
Reduce global energy consumption: fashion consumes more COXNUMX than air and sea transport combined (UN data).
-
Reduce emissions of polluting gases: fashion is responsible for 10% of global greenhouse gas (CO2) emissions every year.
-
Reduce water consumption: fashion contributes to the dissipation of 20% of the total water resources used in various working phases (dyeing, printing, finishing and of course also to maintain the cotton plantations).
-
Promote the use of innovative materials: investing in technology and research, it is possible to activate the virtuosity of the circular economy and avoid the use of raw materials that contain PVC, azo dyes, formaldehyde and heavy metals, substances that are harmful to both the environment and humans.
