About Valeria Mangani
Valeria Mangani is the founder and President of Sustainable Fashion Innovation Society, Europe's largest community of sustainable fashion and design companies, with over 2,300 registered members.
Named among Fortune's 50 Most Powerful Women in Italy (2023) for her commitment to the sustainable transition of fashion and design brands, she is also a FAO World Food Hero (2023) and an Officer of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
She serves as Expert Delegate for the Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy at the National Fashion Table (MIMIT), representing Italy's sustainable fashion system at the highest institutional levels alongside the presidents of Italy's largest fashion trade associations.
Since 2017, she has been the Head Delegate of the International Alliance of Women at UN institutions based in Rome — an NGO founded in 1904 with 44 member organisations holding consultative status at the UN Economic and Social Council, represented at the African Union and Arab League.
She is a bestselling author with over 10 books published across 20 years in ecology and quality of life, including the scientific monograph "Vestire il Futuro" (Giappichelli Editore), prefaced by Minister Adolfo Urso (MIMIT) and the Director of the European Parliament in Italy, Carlo Corazza — adopted as the official textbook of the Master in Fashion Management at Sapienza University of Rome.
