The Sustainable Fashion Innovation Society (SFIS) is the first international non-profit organization entirely dedicated to the sustainable transition of the fashion, design, and lifestyle sectors. As a Cluster Organization, SFIS represents the largest European community of sustainable brands and manufacturers, with over 2,000 member companies from 47 countries, a total turnover of €7 billion, and over 30,000 employees.
SFIS promotes public-private partnerships, cross-sector innovation, and multi-level institutional dialogue, coordinating the annual Phygital Sustainability Expo®, a leading event on sustainability culture in Europe, in collaboration with the European Commission and Parliament, FAO, ICE-ITA, RAI, and Italian ministries.
The association is the founder of the National Observatory on Sustainable Made in Italy, promotes a Materials Laboratory in partnership with Sapienza University of Rome, offers a B2B database of sustainable materials and a phygital platform for industrial and technological matchmaking.
The cluster also organizes training courses accredited by Sapienza University of Rome and innovative cultural projects such as the Sfilata Narrata®, a globally copyrighted, immersive format that combines heritage, innovation, and sustainable storytelling. SFIS also leads awareness campaigns for ethical and traceable purchasing, helping to strengthen informed demand and dialogue between businesses, consumers, and institutions.
Through its cluster activities, SFIS accelerates the adoption of circularity, supports regenerative business models, promotes traceability and eco-design, and contributes to the resilience and competitiveness of the European textile system.
