Sustainable Fashion Innovation Society, based at Via Valdieri 23, Rome, as Data Controller, recognises the importance of personal data protection. This policy describes how we collect and use your data in compliance with EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR). It covers the site sustainablefashioninnovation.org only, and not other sites reached through external links.

2Personal data we process

We collect only the data strictly necessary for the purposes described below.

  • Data you provide: through the forms on this site we collect common data such as name, email address and phone number.
  • Browsing data: our systems collect some technical data, such as IP address and request time, whose transmission is inherent to internet protocols. It is not used to identify you, only to keep the site secure.
  • Cookies: the site uses no profiling cookies and no third-party tracking tools such as Google Analytics. Only technical cookies needed to run the site are used.

3Purposes and legal bases

Your data is processed to:

  • Reply to your requests, handling messages sent through the forms. Legal basis: pre-contractual or contractual measures, art. 6.1.b GDPR.
  • Register you with the Society or the newsletter, when explicitly requested. Legal basis: performance of a contract or your consent, art. 6.1.a and 6.1.b GDPR.
  • Meet legal obligations and protect the site from abuse. Legal basis: legal obligation or legitimate interest, art. 6.1.c and 6.1.f GDPR.

4Place of processing and data transfers

Your data is stored on servers located within the European Union. Hosting is provided by IONOS, with infrastructure in Germany. We make no transfers to countries outside the EU.

5Who receives the data

Your personal data is never sold or handed over to third parties. It can be accessed only by:

  • authorised Society staff, administrative or technical collaborators;
  • technical service providers, such as our hosting provider IONOS, appointed Data Processors where needed.

6Data retention

We keep your data only as long as needed to handle your request.

  • Contact requests: up to 12 months after the matter is resolved.
  • Society or newsletter registration: until you ask to unsubscribe, which you can do at any time using the contacts above.

7Your rights

As a data subject you have the right to:

  • access your data and receive a copy of it;
  • ask for rectification or erasure, the right to be forgotten;
  • ask for restriction of processing, or object to it;
  • request data portability;
  • lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority, in Italy the Data Protection Authority.

8Changes

The Controller may update this policy following legislative or technical changes. Please check this page from time to time.
